12 September 2006 Fiddy pulled over with no car insurance
Hip-hop recording artist 50 Cent was arrested last week for a number infringements including driving without car insurance.
The multi-million selling rapper, known affectionately by some as 'Fiddy', was arrested in Manhattan while driving his silver Lamborghini.
Detective Christopher Filippazzo, a police spokesperson, stated that the 50 Cent was arrested for an unsafe lane change, driving with an expired license, driving without vehicle registration and driving without car insurance.
Ian Parvess, a watching tourist, told Reuters that the Interscope artist initially refused to exit his car.
"Eventually the cops opened the door. ... He just got out of the car and put his hands on the car and they put the cuffs on him," Mr Parvess told the news agency.
It is reported that 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, could be liable for fines up to $220 (£118) in fines in the aftermath of the incident.
Earlier this year 50 Cent was named as songwriter of the year by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
